Coaching is most effective if there is a personal connection, if both parties can relate. As your coach, I help you set, and achieve, short and long-term personal development plans. I act as your sounding board and learning partner, not an expert on you or your needs. I am action oriented; I want to help you reach your goals, do away with procrastination. Coaching involves posing tough questions no one else will ask, I challenge you and hold you accountable for your actions. I cannot, and do not, promise you will take any specific action or attain any specific goals. I am only a vehicle to use on your journey, you must decide on your route and destination.
Some people believe we are born with a ‘predetermined destiny’, others feel we have complete control over our lives. I am a spiritual person who gains strength from my faith; it has gotten me through some extremely difficult times. I believe prayer, and faith, can help us along way but the Creator has also provided the ability to learn, and grow, from all that is put in our path. He provides guides (such as friends and coaches) to help steer us around obstacles. I believe everyone, and everything, happens for a reason, we don't always know why; sometimes it is for us, other times it is for someone else.
Life altering situations have forced me to refocus my energy and make major life changes. I use my personal, and professional, experiences to help others do the same. I believe how we deal with our present, and past, determines our future; we can let things take us down, or we can learn and grow! After 15 years of trying to conceive, I combine my skills as a grief counselor with my enjoyment of writing and desire to help others. After losing my husband, in 2005, our adopted daughter and I needed to start a new life so I hired a life coach. As the mom of a child with severe special needs, I began a new career and a new way of helping others. I studied to be come a coach, and I continue taking additional training so I can be the best coach possible.
I consider myself to be very blessed; I have had many opportunities and have had some terrific people in my life. Some I worked to make happen, others seemed to come to me. None were because I was born into wealth or leisure! I have spent most of my life helping others, and this is my biggest strength. I pride myself on my wide range of interests and am able to discuss almost anything. I love to read, write, sew, knit, bead, hunt, fish, learn and so much more.
